Profile

Stathis participated first in the 'Mr Model Millenium 2000' Beauty Contest in Greece, in which he won the 'Manhunt Greece' title (aka Mr Greece). He then participated representing Greece in the 'Manhunt International' (Singapore), in which he won the 'Community Services Award 2000'. A few months later he participated in the 'Best Model of the World' Beauty Contest winning the prestigious 'Best Model Tourism 2000' title (Turkey, Instanbul). Finally he participated in the 'Mr Intercontinental' Beauty Contest being placed in the 'Top 10' and winning the '1st Runner-Up Mr. Elegance 2001' (Germany).

Stathis became "Mr Greece" just a few days after he graduated with the highest mark among 105 graduates, from the Department of Sport Science and Physical Education (Athens University). He got the"Best Model Tourism 2000 Award" while he was a Master student in Sport and Exercise Science and finally was awarded the "1st Runner Up Mr Elegance 2001" title while he was a PhD student in Leeds Metropolitan University (UK).

Today Dr Stathis Avramidis works as Visiting Research Fellow in the Carnegie Faculty of Sports and Education in Leeds Metropolitan University (UK), in the Hellenic Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (Greece) and is one of the leading book authors in water safety, lifesaving and lifeguarding.
